Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The App is a recipe collection for deviled eggs. We designed it to collect as little personal information as possible. You do not create an account, and we never ask for your name, email address, or phone number.
In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the developer of Your Daily Deviled Egg (“Oeufware”). If you have questions, contact us at support@oeufware.com.
1. Information we collect
Information you don’t provide (no account required)
The App has no sign-up or login. We do not collect your name, email, address, phone number, contacts, photos, or precise location.
Anonymous device identifier
To keep community features fair (for example, one rating per person per recipe), the App uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to assign your device a random, anonymous identifier (“anonymous ID”). This anonymous ID is not linked to your real-world identity and is not shared with other users. It persists on your device so your contributions remain consistent between sessions.
Community activity you generate in the App
When you interact with recipes, the following may be sent to our cloud database (Google Cloud Firestore) and combined with contributions from other users to produce aggregated, community-wide statistics:
- Ratings — the star rating (1–5) you give a recipe, stored together with your anonymous ID so you can update your own rating. We also keep running per-recipe totals (sum and count) to compute community averages.
- Shares — a per-recipe counter that increases by one when a recipe is shared, used to power the global “Most Shared” list. This counter is aggregate and is not tied to your anonymous ID.
- Views — a per-recipe counter that increases by one when a recipe detail page is opened, used to power the global “Most Visited” list. This counter is aggregate and is not tied to your anonymous ID.
Information stored only on your device
Some data stays on your device (via local storage) and is not sent to us, including your saved/favorite recipes, your personal rating/share/view history, and app preferences. Removing the App deletes this local data.
Purchases and subscriptions
Optional Plus and Pro subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play. We use RevenueCat to manage entitlements and validate purchase receipts. Your actual payment details (card numbers, etc.) are handled by Apple or Google and are never seen by us or by RevenueCat. RevenueCat may process a store-provided purchase/transaction identifier and a subscriber ID to determine your subscription status.
Diagnostics
The App and its service providers may process limited technical information (such as crash logs, device type, and OS version) to keep the App working reliably. This information is not used to identify you.
2. How we use information
- To provide core features (browsing, saving, and rating recipes).
- To calculate and display community statistics (Top Rated, Most Shared, Most Visited).
- To prevent abuse, such as duplicate voting.
- To manage subscriptions and unlock paid content.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the App.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. How information is shared
We share information only with the service providers that make the App work, and only as needed for the purposes above:
- Google Firebase / Cloud Firestore — anonymous authentication and cloud database for community statistics.
- RevenueCat — subscription management and receipt validation.
- Apple App Store / Google Play — purchase processing and app distribution.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public. If the App is involved in a merger or acquisition, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Data retention
Aggregated community statistics (ratings, share counts, view counts) are retained to keep the community lists meaningful. Data stored locally on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the App. You may request deletion of the rating records associated with your anonymous ID by contacting us (see Section 8); note that anonymous data may be difficult to locate without the anonymous ID from your device.
5. Security
We use reputable providers (Google, RevenueCat) with industry-standard safeguards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Children’s privacy
The App is a general-audience cooking app and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
7. Your choices and rights
- Local data: clear it by removing your saved recipes in the App or uninstalling.
- Access/deletion: depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or California’s CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access or delete personal information. Because the App is built around anonymous, non-identifying data, some rights may not apply. Contact us to make a request.
8. Contact us

9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
